    ComOps moves into recruitment with candidate database acquisition

    I saw this article on Shortlist yesterday and had a little giggle to myself. WOW – a large IT services company buys a database and thinks that this is the key to success in IT recruitment.

    What a joke. If that was all it took, every IT recruitment agency would be be wealthy. My question is, and I really am seeking some clarification. How likely, unlikely, is a database really going to be in aiding a company in it’s success in recruitment?

    SEEK adds LinkedIn profile import tool

    SEEK has finally released the new job seeker resume database. Registered job seekers will now be able to parse their existing resume (using FAST Search) OR import their existing LinkedIn profile to the new SEEK job seeker database. SEEK’s LinkedIn integration is very simple for job seekers to use and it’s modeled on the same processed I have discussed previously.

    It was the middle of week four in my new job. I was the third consultant on a three person temp accounting desk team.     HTML Special Character #39 – The Apostrophe

    If you do not encode special characters in web forms, you run the risk of breaking the search query or the ability to insert malicious code into the database. Hackers can infiltrate your website, potentially stealing confidential data or deleting the database.  I am not going to go into the technical reasons why this happens, but in most cases it is a very easy fix.
